Welcome to Addis Depot. By accessing or using our marketplace platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Addis Depot operates as a marketplace platform connecting material buyers directly with licensed sellers and verified construction professionals across Ethiopia.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, creating an account, or transacting with merchants listed on Addis Depot, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and agree to comply with all applicable Ethiopian laws and commercial regulations.
User Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming legally binding agreements. Merchants and contractors must hold valid trade licenses under Ethiopian commercial law.
User Accounts & Security
When creating an account on Addis Depot:
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete personal or business details.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activities and orders placed under your registered account.
- Users may not create multiple duplicate accounts to circumvent platform policies.
Marketplace Operating Model
Addis Depot operates under a pure marketplace, Cash-on-Delivery (COD) model:
- Addis Depot is an information marketplace and does not process payments or escrow.
- All orders are Cash-on-Delivery (COD) settled directly between buyer and seller upon inspection.
- Sellers are solely responsible for material accuracy, pricing, and availability.
- Buyers must verify material specifications and condition before completing payment.
- Commercial disputes must be resolved directly between the transacting parties.
Seller & Merchant Obligations
Merchants and store owners agree to:
- All seller accounts and storefronts undergo administrative verification before activation.
- Material descriptions, specifications, and units must be completely truthful and up to date.
- Product images must represent actual materials sold and adhere to platform quality guidelines.
- Displayed prices must reflect real market rates and be honored during customer inquiries.
- Sellers must maintain valid Ethiopian trade licenses and comply with national building codes.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Posting fraudulent listings, counterfeit items, or deceptive pricing.
- Impersonating other contractors, brands, or verified merchants.
- Scraping, automated data mining, or attempting to reverse-engineer our platform.
- Interfering with platform security, server operations, or user experience.
- Creating fraudulent profiles or falsely claiming verified certifications.
- Selling stolen, substandard, hazardous, or counterfeit construction materials.
- Sending unsolicited marketing, automated spam, or abusive messages.
- Attempting to bypass platform security, verification protocols, or user safeguards.
Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, brand elements, and UI designs of Addis Depot are the exclusive property of Addis Depot. Merchant logos and product photographs remain the property of their respective owners.
Limitation of Liability
Addis Depot provides a marketplace platform and does not manufacture materials or guarantee individual contractor workmanship. In no event shall Addis Depot be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from off-platform agreements.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in deceptive trade practices, or compromise platform integrity.
Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Addis Ababa.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of Addis Depot following changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
